Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE) is as faithful to the original as possible - from new areas, expanded dialogue and events, to the iconography of an entirely new set of characters. As a modder, my goal is: "To give players that magical feeling they had when they first played Stardew Valley." To experience the kind of magic ConcernedApe wants, I recommend playing the original Stardew Valley before jumping into SVE's expanded world. For players who have already played Stardew Valley: Think back to the first time you walked into the Secret Forest, completed a complex quest, experienced Shane's Six Hearts event, or met Abigail for the first time. Stardew Valley is filled with those inspired moments that captivate you and draw you into its world. By expanding the world, I hope to create more moments like this, so when you return to the valley you'll always find something new. Need to start a new save file!
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
