📋 Overview
Simple Location Display enhances your **Stardew Valley** gaming experience by displaying the current location name (such as "Test Farm", "Pelican Town") in the lower left corner of the current screen. The pop-up style is similar to the game's "It's getting late" notification, with **translation support**, customizable settings via **GenericModConfigMenu**, and reliable performance in single player and co-op saves, so you always have a sense of direction during your adventure!
🎯 Features
- **Location Popup**: Shows the name of each location (farm, town, mod area, etc.) with a smooth fade-out effect
- **Translation Support**: Convert original names (like "FarmHouse") to friendly names ("Farm House" in English, "Casa de la Granja" in Spanish)
- **Configurable Settings**: Adjust popup duration and enable/disable functionality via GenericModConfigMenu (optional)
- **Save Persistence**: Works seamlessly when switching saves, supports solo and co-op modes
- **Lightweight**: efficient event processing and translation caching with minimal impact on performance
⚙️ Installation Guide
- **Install SMAPI**: Download SMAPI 4.0.0 or higher (required)
- **Install the module**: Download Simple Location Display from, unzip it and put the `SimpleLocationDisplay` folder into the `Stardew Valley/Mods/` directory

🔧 Configuration options
Configure using GenericModConfigMenu or edit `config.json` in the mod folder:

- **SMAPI**: Requires SMAPI 4.0.0 or higher
- **Mods**: Compatible with most mods, including custom locations (like Ridgeside Village). Tested with UI Info Suite 2 and Custom Companions

⚠️ Known issues
- Some locations may show "Unknown location". Please report for translation support
- Rare multiplayer status issues (such as `IsServer: False` showing in single-player games) do not affect functionality
🛠️ Troubleshooting
If the pop-up window does not appear:
- Check if `EnableMod` in `config.json` or GMCM is `true`
- Make sure SMAPI is running (check console for error messages)
- Share `%appdata%\StardewValley\ErrorLogs\smapi-log.txt` via SMAPI Log Parser
- Test using only SMAPI, Simple Location Display and GMCM to isolate conflicts

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
