Module Introduction
Are you using the excellent seasonal clothing mod made by Poltergeister, but are bothered by the inconsistent clothing in Shane and Gus' portraits?
In the original game, some of their portraits are shown wearing torn clothing, but other portraits don't have this issue? This mod is made for that! ✨
Fix content
This mod fixes the following portraits in the Seasonal Cute Characters mod:
- 🍂 Autumn Portraits of Gus
- ❄️Shane’s Snow Festival Portrait
- 🎪 Shane's Stardew Valley Exhibition Portrait
- ☀️Shane’s Summer Portraits
- 🌸Shane’s Spring Portrait
Installation instructions
📝 **IMPORTANT NOTE**: This is not currently a content patcher mod, you will need to replace the files manually
- Download Shane and Gus costume restoration files
- Unzip the ZIP file to any location
- Find the [CP] Seasonal Cute Characters folder in the Stardew Valley module folder
- (Recommended) Back up the original Shane and Gus portrait files
- Copy the "portraits" folder of this module to the "[CP] Seasonal Cute Characters" folder and replace the file with the same name
Future plans
🚀 This is an early version of the mod, I plan to add in the future:
- Content patcher compatibility (no need to manually replace files)
- Configuration options: remove Joja logo on Shane's jacket, spring full trousers, etc.
- Restored versions of Shane and Gus' portraits from the original game
- Possibly make a repaired version for Willy

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
