Soapmaking is a traditional craft with a long history, but no one comes here to read the Wiki article, so let's get straight to the highlights.
**Basic material requirements:**
- **Lye**: Put the hardwood into the charcoal kiln and wait two hours to get it
- **Soap Pot**: The recipe is automatically unlocked when the farming level reaches level 4
- Crafting materials: 2 iron ingots, 10 hardwood, 1 clay, 1 battery pack
- **Grease**: Mix with lye in the soap pot to make various soaps

🌿 How to obtain oil
**Basic grease:**
- **Regular Oil**: Buy from Pierre's store or make your own
- **Milk**: Regular size cow's milk or goat's milk (big buckets of milk are not available)
**Special grease (needs to be produced by oil press): **
- **Coconut Oil**: Coconut → 2 Coconut Oils
- **Orange Oil**: Orange → Orange Oil
- **Sweet Almond Oil**: Plant sweet almond trees and press the oil after harvesting in spring
- **Shea Butter**: Plant shea trees and press the oil after harvesting in summer
- **Olive Oil**: Plant olive trees and press oil after harvest in autumn

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
