AssetBridge

✨ **AssetBridge** allows mods to load textures **directly from other mods' folders**! It is a lightweight framework specifically designed to reduce sprite conflicts and avoid redundant copies of the same files.

🎯 Core Functions

  • **Logical Asset Creation**: Logical assets (such as Characters/NpcName_anything) can be created to automatically link to sprites in other modules
  • **Intelligent Resource Management**: Automatically intercept game resource requests, locate linked files in the target module and automatically provide services
  • **Multiple scenes**: perfect for animation frames, conditional texture swapping or simply sharing art assets between mod packs

🔧 How it works

  • **Create virtual data assets**: AssetBridge creates a virtual data asset named AssetBridges. Content Patcher can use EditData to define links between logical assets and actual PNG files in other modules.
  • **Smart request interception**: When a game or other module requests an asset, AssetBridge will intercept the request, locate the link file in the target module, and automatically provide services

📝 How to use

Add dependencies in manifest.json:

```json
"Dependencies": [
{ "UniqueID": "Nikanor.AssetBridge", "IsRequired": true }
]
```

Configure in content.json:

```json
{
"Action": "EditData",
"Target": "AssetBridges",
"Entries": {
"Characters/NpcName": "TargetUniqueID/path inside their mod/file name.png"
}
}
```

🎮 Usage example

Let's say you want to use Alex's sprites from the **Seasonal Cute Characters** mod (Poltergeister.SeasonalCuteCharacters) and load them into a new logical asset for use in other packages or animations:

```json
{
"Action": "EditData",
"Target": "AssetBridges",
"Entries": {
"Characters/Alex_Example": "Poltergeister.SeasonalCuteCharacters/assets/Characters/Alex/Alex_Summer.png",
"Portraits/Alex_Example": "Poltergeister.SeasonalCuteCharacters/assets/Portraits/Alex/Alex_Summer.png"
}
}
```

🚀 **Experience smoother module resource management** and say goodbye to the troubles of duplicate files and sprite conflicts!

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
