✨ Module Features

This mod brings back to life a project I started many years ago! Because my son has ferrets and he plays Stardew Valley a lot, I made this fun replacement mod specifically.

🎮 Function Description

  • **Full Replacement**: Replaced all dog pet options with cute ferrets
  • **COMPLETE PACKAGE**: Includes ferret portrait, animation, text quotes and sound effects
  • **Animation Optimization**: After testing, it was found that dog animation is more suitable for ferret movement performance than cat animation.

🔧 Technical requirements

  • Requires **SMAPI** and **Content Patcher** to be installed for normal operation
  • I recently learned to use Content Patcher to replace audio, which was a technical problem that troubled me before.

⚠️ Compatibility Notes

There may be compatibility issues with other pet replacement mods, but this has not been tested in detail

🙏 Special thanks

Thanks to FarmerRen from the Chucklefish Forum for providing the portrait and animation assets for this mod

Let these lively and cute ferrets add more fun to your farm life! 🐾

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
