⚙️ Configuration method
Do not use Generic Mod Menu
- Use SMAPI to run the game to generate a config.json file
- Open the config.json file
- Refer to the picture to change the animal to the look you want
- Example: Change "Horse": "1" to use horse texture No. 1
- Save and close the file and launch the game using SMAPI
Using Generic Mod Menu

- Open the Generic Mod Menu (click the gear in the lower left corner of the title screen)
- Click on the module name and a simple drop-down menu will pop up.

🎨 Adopt and Skin compatible
Place the folder containing the corresponding animal textures in `AdoptSkin\assets\skins`. Some skins may be replaced and will need to be renamed if you want to keep them.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
