About this mod Machine translation

This modular content pack adds crafting recipes for basic rings, rods, weapons, and tools from the base game, and is designed to provide alternative ways to obtain these items that only had a single way to obtain them in the original.

Vanilla Gear Crafting Extended

🎮 **Add crafting recipes to original equipment to reduce dependence on random drops and stores! **

✨ Module Features

This modular content pack adds balanced and game-appropriate crafting recipes to items that were usually only available in a single way in the original game, giving you more ways to obtain these gear!

📦 Module composition

💍 Ring and fishing rod module (optional)

  • Added level-restricted crafting recipes
  • Includes glow ring, magnetic ring, fiberglass fishing rod and iridium fishing rod

⚔️ Weapon Module (optional)

  • Added level-restricted crafting recipes for many base game standard weapons
  • These weapons were originally only randomly dropped from chests and enemies in the mines
  • Note: Late-game and end-game weapons still need to be obtained through default methods

🔧 Tool module (optional)

  • Added crafting recipes for tool upgrades (bronze to gold)
  • Provide an alternative upgrade method outside of Clint's store

🎯 Design Concept

Rings, Fishing Rods and Weapons

Have you ever found it strange that you can craft some pretty powerful items (including rings), but there are no recipes for basic glowing rings and magnetic rings? Have you ever been unlucky enough to not get a glowing ring before reaching the 30th floor of the mine, and had to fumble in the dark? Or because you are unlucky and no weapons drop, you can only take risks with low-power weapons?

These modules are designed to add balanced recipes, give you access to base items to mitigate bad luck, and provide alternative acquisition methods beyond random drops and store purchases.

tool

Don't like Clint, hate interacting with him or supporting his business? Taking on the No Store Challenge, or just want to be more self-sufficient? Need to upgrade your watering can but can’t wait for the rainy days?

This mod adds balanced recipes for crafting base tool upgrades, giving you more options: save resources/gold and wait for Clint to upgrade, or spend more to upgrade yourself immediately? The choice is yours!

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES

Perfection Tracking

As far as I know, the perfection tracker checks all known crafting recipes and determines whether each recipe has been crafted at least once. By adding additional crafting recipes, you will need to craft these items at least once to complete this aspect of perfection.

Tool processing

Due to the way tools are coded, it is currently not possible to consume tools in crafting recipes to "upgrade" them, nor to destroy existing tool instances. It's theoretically possible (although unlikely) to soft-lock the game by filling it with tools that can't be discarded, so craft tools with caution!

🔗 Compatibility

This mod is natively compatible with Better Crafting (crafting interface overhaul).

🌟 Module series

This mod is part of the Vanilla Content Extended series, designed to extend specific aspects of the original game. These mods improve the gameplay experience by reducing reliance on random numbers, expanding gameplay options for obtaining non-rare items, and implementing other small changes that are true to the spirit of the original game.

All mods in the series have been extensively tested for game balance, making them feel like they are part of the original game, or part of an update to the title.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
