oral allergy syndrome
🎯 **New content pack for BarleyZP’s allergy mod**
🌸 What is Oral Allergy Syndrome?
Oral allergy syndrome (OAS) is a pollen-related food allergic reaction. Like myself, people with OAS can develop allergic reactions to pollen associated with specific foods. Eating these foods can trigger symptoms ranging from mild throat scratching to severe allergic reactions.
🌿 Added 9 new pollen types
This content pack simulates OAS by adding 9 different types of pollen:
- 🌳 Birch pollen
- 🌾 Ragweed Pollen
- 🍃 Mugwort pollen
- 🌱Weed Pollen (contains 7 common weed types, does not contain cannabis)
- 🌿 Parietaria pollen
- 🌾Poaceae pollen
- 🌳Alder pollen
- 🌲Cedar Pollen
- 🌳 Sycamore tree pollen
These are the most common pollen types associated with OAS.
🔧 Configuration options
Each pollen includes a "Cooking" toggle (highly recommended to use the universal mod configuration menu for easier setup). Since raw foods are more likely to cause problems than cooked foods, unchecking the "Cooking" toggle means that only raw foods with that specific pollen will react to players, while cooked foods are safe.
🎮 Usage suggestions
While you could use the Random Allergy option from the base Allergy mod with this content pack, this would put all 9 types of pollen into the randomizer, potentially making the game very difficult based on the randomly selected types. If you want a slightly less stressful experience, it is recommended to manually select your desired allergy type in the main allergy menu.
🎯 Compatibility
This mod pack is compatible with items from the following mods:
- Stardew Valley Expanded Edition
- Ridge Village
- Sunberry Village

- Corner of Plenty
- Love of cooking
- Wildflour’s workshop items

If there's enough demand, I'll add compatibility for other mods.

💫 **Author’s words**
This is the first mod I've ever completed, and I'm not a professional programmer, so this mod was done through a lot of trial and error! I tried my best to include as many accurate foods as possible, especially foods from common mods. If you find that I've missed a food that should be included, or find any errors, please let me know and I'll try to correct it.
Thanks to all players who support this mod!
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
