About this mod Machine translation
Used to change the game's images and data without replacing the XNB file.
Content packs can be changed dynamically based on many in-game details such as weather, date, holiday or event, spouse, relationship, whether you have a Joja membership, etc.
Unlike XNB mods, these content packs get automatic update checks and compatibility checks, are easy to install and uninstall, automatically support localization, are less likely to conflict, and are less likely to break due to game updates.
Instructions for use
Install the latest version of SMAPI.
Extract the mod folder to Stardew Valley/Mods.
Install whatever you need by unzipping them into Stardew Valley/Mods.
Use SMAPI to run the game.
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
