Adding a much-needed automatic classification system to Stardew Valley

Multi-box automatic sorting system

💫 **Tired of clicking "Add to existing stack" to open every box? ** I totally understand how you feel!

After returning from the Skull Cave countless times, I was fed up with the tedious process of organizing loot, so I created this mod to make transferring items easier - **Automated Sorting System**!

---

🎯 How it works

1. Grouping system

  • Place a stone marker and all horizontally adjacent boxes to the right will join the group
  • In simple terms: 1 logo = 1 group (please refer to the picture example)

2. Automatic classification within groups

  • All chests within the same group act like one big chest/inventory
  • When you add an item to any box, if the item is already stacked in the group, it will be automatically added to the corresponding box
  • If there is no existing stack, items will remain in the chest you add (see video demonstration)
  • When the player sleeps, all boxes in the same group will be automatically rearranged

3. Improved quick storage

**Want to save more time? ** We have more optimizations to come!

  • **Original operation**: Left click to transfer the item stack one by one, right click to transfer the entire stack
  • **Enhanced Operation**: Hold Alt + Right Click (configurable) and drag the mouse along the row of items, all stacks and items are transferred continuously (see video demonstration)
  • If you have played Rust, you will find that this is similar to the inventory storage method in it.
  • You can also use the same method to quickly obtain stacks when taking items from boxes

---

🔧 Compatibility information

  • **Base Game**: Junimo chests cannot be used in this system because the game does not treat them as normal chests
  • **Mod Compatible**: Compatible with most modules such as Automate and Junimatic
  • **Custom Chests**: Any mod that adds a custom chest, as long as it is of the same type as the chests in the base game, will be supported

❓ FAQ

  • **Can I add it to an existing archive? ** ✅ Yes
  • **Stone sign added but chest not organized? **Please see point 2 of Part 2
  • **Can I use only some functions? ** ✅ Can be turned off and reconfigured in the mod configuration menu
  • **Does it work everywhere? ** ❌ Valid only on farms and farmhouses

✨ **Make item management easy and enjoyable, and focus on enjoying the game! **

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
