Alternative texture (AT) version
- Download and install the latest version of SMAPI and alternative textures
- Download and unzip "Em's Ostriches AT"
- Move the folder to the `Stardew Valley/Mods/` directory
- Buy painting tools from Robin at the Carpenter Shop
- Select the Scissors tool and left-click on the ostrich to select the type
Content Patcher (CP) version
- Download and install the latest version of SMAPI and content patcher
- Download and unzip "Em's Ostriches CP"
- Move the folder to the `Stardew Valley/Mods/` directory
⚙️ Configuration instructions
**Default setting is male ostrich**, if you need to change:
- Open and close the game once
- Find the `config.json` file in the Ostrich module folder
- Replace "OstrichMale" with your preferred type name
- Save the file
💡 Usage Tips
- The store icon defaults to a male ostrich, which can be modified in the configuration file
- Baby ostriches purchased from Marnie's shop will be randomly assigned a type, which can still be changed
- CP and AT versions can be installed at the same time to ensure that the purchased ostrich always uses the beautified version
- The AT version also includes two additional baby ostrich options

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
