About this mod Machine translation

Place a chest next to a machine (such as a furnace or crystal house) and the machine will automatically remove the original items from the chest and push the processed items into it. Connect multiple machines with boxes to connect them.

Place a chest next to any number of machines (such as a furnace or crystal house) that will take raw items from the chest and push finished products into it. Press on (configurable) to display the Automation overlay:

For non-English speaking players, translations are included in the base Mod. Contributions welcome!

Install the latest version of SMAPI.

Extract the mod folder to Stardew Valley/Mods.

Use SMAPI to run the game.

NOTE: Shipping boxes will sell items by default. Make sure to remove the box from the shipping box if needed, or check the settings below to turn it off.

Install the Generic Mod Config Menu to change the way Automate works (see screenshot).

For example, you can...

Turn off the shipping box so that it does not automatically sell items (under "Shipping Box Settings");

Let paths connect computers together (under "Enabled Connectors");

Configure individual machine types;

and more.

compatible...

Stardew Valley 1.6 or higher;

Linux, macOS and Windows;

Single player game;

Split screen and multiplayer. NOTE: Automate must be installed by the main player and is optional for farm workers. See In multiplayer games, who gets XP and whose profession applies to it? in the FAQ.

There are no known mod conflicts.

Goes well together...

Better Junimos adds more crop automation (like replanting) and other improvements.

Deluxe Grabber Redux allows automated grabbers to also collect nearby animal products, feed, crops and indoor potted crops.

Filtered Chest Hopper enables advanced machine piping.

Machine Control Panel Allows you to control which items each machine type accepts.

Non-destructive NPCs prevent NPCs from destroying treasure chests and machines.

Workbench Helper allows you to link chests to a workbench for manual crafting.

Mod interaction:

Extended storage works well with Automate, but it also changes Auto-Grabbers to store items output by the machine.

Qi Chests work well with Automate, except that Automate currently treats all Qi chests as part of a single Junimo chest network.

basic automation

Place a chest next to the crafting machine (any orientation, including diagonally) to connect it. Machines connected to the bins push their output into them and take raw materials from them for processing.

If you have multiple chests connected to a machine, then all inputs to the recipe need to be in the same chest (e.g. one chest has coal and another has ore, and the furnace won't work).

By default, Automate supports...

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
