Mineracoustics - Gem Music Theory
🎵 **A complex gem ring system remake based on real music theory**
✨ Module Introduction
This mod replaces the boring and overly powerful Iridium Ring of the original with a more interesting alternative based on real music theory. It was originally created to solve the "supremacy" problem of Iridium Rings - Iridium Rings quickly made all other rings redundant, forcing all players to adopt the same flat damage build.
Although the new system is complex, I have tried to make the following description both accessible and educational. Mathematics enthusiasts, theory builders, and musicians will find this system attractive. Even if you're not one of those people, I hope this new mechanic encourages construction experimentation, provides much-needed construction variety, and teaches some basic music theory.
🎯 Get started quickly
**Make Infinity Bracelet:**
-Create an iridium ring (has no effect at first)
- Infuse with Galaxy Soul at Ginger Island Forge (still no effect)
**Additional Gems:**
- Fusion of up to 4 gem rings at the forging table
- Use the same gems to get a stronger single attribute bonus, or mix gems to get a resonance effect
- Resonance can provide some light and magnetism (but less than glow rings and magnet rings)
**limit:**
- Cannot be combined with non-gemstone rings, must strike a balance between power and practicality
💎 Infinity Bracelet
Initially, a newly crafted iridium ring will provide no effects; it will be just a regular iridium bracelet. Only after obtaining the Forge can you awaken its true form by infusing it with a Galaxy Soul, transforming it into an **Infinity Bracelet**.
The Infinity Band itself also doesn't work, but it acts as a container for up to 4 gems of your choice. To add a gem to the Infinity Band, you must fuse it with the corresponding gem ring at the forging table. Gemstones of the same type can be added multiple times, and the effects will stack. Alternatively, combining different gemstones may create a powerful **resonant** effect.
🎼 Resonance theory of garnet and gemstones
To compensate for the removal of the original Acrobatics class when using Walk Of Life, this mod introduces a seventh gemstone - garnet, which can be mined above level 80 of the mine. When mounted on a ring or weapon, it will provide 10% cooldown reduction for special moves.
*Diatonic gemstone scale. The dotted lines show examples of third-fourth chords with ruby (red), aquamarine (blue), and emerald (green) as root notes. *
🎵 interval
Like a guitar string, each gemstone has its own characteristic vibration. When two gemstones are placed side by side, these vibrations overlap, creating constructive or destructive interference patterns.
A pair of stones forms an **interval**. As the name suggests, this is simply the diatonic distance between the two stones. Distance 1 is called the second, distance 2 is the third, and so on.
**Interval resonance effect:**
- **Second Degree:** -12.5%
- **Third Degree:** +16.6%
- **Fourth Degree:** +33.3%
- **Fifth Degree:** +50%
- **Six Degrees:** +16.6%
- **Seventh Degree:** -12.5%
- **Octave:** 0
🎶 Chords
When multiple stones are placed together, the complex resonant superposition of all possible intervals is called a chord.
**Monophonic Chord (Monad)**
- The simplest chords, composed by repeating the same gem up to 4 times
- No resonance, zero richness
- Does not emit light, but achieves the highest single attribute value
**Dyad Chords**
- Contains 2 complementary intervals
- The best configuration is the main interval, such as `Ruby->Emerald`
- This kind of chord is called a power chord, the simplest resonant chord.
**Triad**
- Contains 6 intervals
- The only configuration that avoids dissonance is the third chord
- Configure as `I->III->V`
**Four-note chord (Tetra …
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
