These are working dogs that live in your barn and look after other livestock.
✨ Module Features
Using the content patcher, dogs can now be purchased as separate animal types, rather than replacing existing animals. They have:
- 🎵 Custom bark sounds
- 🍄 Be able to dig for truffles!
🔄 Version 2.0 update
This update has been a long time in the making, as I've been researching how to add configuration options for dog breeds.
**IMPORTANT NOTE:**
- 📁 This is a brand new file structure, please delete the previous folder before downloading the update
- ⚠️ This means that dogs already in your barn will "go wrong" and disappear
- 💡 So I keep the old version on the download page and recommend the new version for starting a new archive
🛠️ How to use
Select the dog breeds you wish to have available in Marnie's store via the config.json file or GMCM. Note that each variety has its own purchase icon, so the more varieties you select, the more icons you will get!

❓ FAQ
**Will these dogs also become adoptable pets? **
Yes! But this takes a lot of time. The dogs are much larger than pet dogs, and the pet dog tile sheet is much more complex than the barn animals. Please wait!
**Can I add the "XX" variety? **
If there's a specific popular demand, I'll likely add it. But I don't want to open the floodgates of requests because the base mod still has configuration options and other work that needs to be done.
**Can I add "my dog"? **
If your dog is a large working farm dog and doesn't mind sleeping in a barn...I would consider it! If not, please wait until I release the "adoptable pets" version before sending a request.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
