About this mod Machine translation
Transform the Hat Rat in a remote corner of the Ash Forest into a real-life character named Lacey.
Hat Mouse Lacey
🎩 Meet Lacey
Lacey is a brand new version of the Ash Forest Hat Rat! Like you, she is a new resident of the valley and has just purchased and renovated the abandoned cabin. She can’t wait to open her own hat making and selling business!
🌟 Character personality
Lacey is a happy, polite but somewhat introverted girl who likes to keep a low profile. She is passionate about hats and has a unique eye for all kinds of hats. She loves food and idolizes Gus. Fall was her favorite season and loved spending time outdoors.
Being the only rat who can talk and is less than a meter tall, life can be challenging at times.
🎭 Brand new experience
Unlike the Hat Rat in the base game (which was just a map sprite), Lacey is a real NPC:
- Can establish friendship with her
- Has a rich dialogue system
- Unique comments for each base hat and hats added by some mods
- Contains a complete series of exciting events
-Supports marriage function (almost no one will find it strange, unless you deliberately create embarrassment)
💡 Play suggestions
If you are playing with Lacey for the first time, it is recommended to start a new save to get the full experience, as she has dialogue specifically designed for her first year.
To maintain the sense of surprise, it is recommended not to view spoilers in the mod files. Of course, if you like spoilers, feel free - I can't stop you!

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
