JClub
✨ **Give every NPC in Stardew Valley a fun new name! ** ✨
🎭 Module function
Have you ever lamented the lack of custom NPCs starting with J in your game? This mod was created to solve this problem! After installation, the display name of each NPC will be modified to start with the letter J.
🌟 **Three interesting modes for you to choose:**
- **Default Mode** 🅙 - Make every NPC's name start with J
- **Boncher Mode** 🍌 - Insert "onch" in character name
- **Tortilla Mode** 🌮 - Make the name end with "illa"
⚙️ How to use
Use the general module configuration menu to switch modes, or manually edit the config.json file. Just select the "Mode" option and enter the allowed values above.
💡 **TIP:** No need to reload the game, all affected resources will automatically be invalidated and reloaded.
🛠️Technical Description
This mod supports the following types of custom NPCs:
- Put display name into Strings/NPCNames (standard location) and use [LocalizedText] referenced NPC
- Set the display name of the NPC directly in the DisplayName field in the Data/Characters entry
⚠️ **Note:**
- Certain strings written to archive data (such as active tasks) will not be edited
- Strange results may occur in non-English languages
- The module will try to avoid generating inappropriate names, but it may not be perfect
🔧 Custom options
You can update the nickname list in the mod folder (assets/OtherNames.json) and then reload the game to add the names I may have missed. If you do this, please tell me what's missing and I'll add it in a future version.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
