- **Default Settings**: Starts with a cowboy hat, but you can change it to any hat you like
⚙️ Installation Guide
- Make sure SMAPI is installed
- Download the latest version of the **StartingHat** module
- Extract the mod folder to the Mods directory of Stardew Valley
- Launch the game using SMAPI
- You will get the specified hat every time you load a new archive.
🔧 Configuration instructions
The configuration file `config.json` is automatically generated after the first run:
```json
{
"StartingHatId": 0
}
```
You can change the ID to the number of any hat, but make sure to exclude `` and `(H)`. You can find the IDs for all hats on the Hats tab of the Stardew Valley Item ID Lookup Site.
⚠️ **NOTE**: Entering a non-hat ID will result in you not being able to obtain any items

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
