Changed measurement units in the English version of the game to the metric system

Inches To Metric System

🌍 **Say goodbye to inches and embrace metric units! **

As someone who is used to using the metric system, not knowing the true size of the fish every time I fish always annoys me 😫 Although the game has been converted to metric in multiple localized versions, the English version lacks this option, so this mod was born!

✨ Module function

This mod uses Content Patcher to replace the in-game measurement units with the metric system:

  • 🐟 **All Fish**: Size display changed from inches to centimeters
  • 🛣️ **Road Sign**: Distance display in the introduction scene changed to meters
  • 👨 **Shane Dialogue**: Change "6 inches" to "15 cm"
  • 👩 **Hailey's dialogue**: Change "twenty miles" to "thirty kilometers"

📥 Installation Guide

  • First install SMAPI
  • Install Content Patcher
  • Place this module into the Stardew Valley/Mods folder
  • Run the game using SMAPI
  • 💡 **Optional**: If you need a 24-hour clock, you can view related modules

🔧 Compatibility Notes

The mod will work with any version of the game, as long as other mods don't replace the same content in the following files:

  • Fish.xnb
  • Intro.xnb
  • Dialogue/Haley.xnb
  • MarriageDialogueShane.xnb
  • StringsFromCSFiles.xnb

⚠️ **IMPORTANT NOTE**: If the 24-hour clock module is used at the same time, the recorded fish size may be abnormal. Please review the guide to resolve this issue.

🙏 Special thanks

Thanks to DaniAlbrtSancEs for helping update the mod, and PinkSerenity for helping resolve compatibility issues with the 24-hour clock mod!

🎮 **Enjoy the mod and have fun! **:D

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
