🐎 Overview
**Hungry Horses** enhances the realism of horseback riding in Stardew Valley by introducing **stamina and friendship mechanics** for your horses. Your horse is no longer just a simple mount, it now has a **limited stamina bar**, which is consumed when running and can be restored through feeding or the passage of time. A **Friendship System** has also been added, allowing you to bond with your horse through petting and feeding.

🏃 Horse endurance system
- **Hold the left shift key to make the horse run**
- **Stamina will be consumed when running**
- **Walking does not consume stamina**
- Horses **slowly recover stamina** when left on the farm
- Every morning **stamina fully restored**
- If stamina drops to zero, the horse will **stop running and return home**
🥕 Horse feeding system
- You can **feed the horse** to restore stamina
- Available foods: **Carrots, summer squash, broccoli and pink squash**
- **Feeding will also increase friendship with horses**
- Horses will refuse to eat if their stamina is **full**
❤️ Horse friendship system
- **Friendship Level** affects stamina consumption
- **Higher friendship = slower stamina drain**
- Increase friendships by:
- **Pet the horse once a day**: +20 Friendship
- **Feed the Horses**: +10 Friendship
- **Friendship is reduced (-50) if horses spend the night outside the farm**
🚀 Speed gain and debuff
- **Hold the left shift key and run**, consume stamina
- If the endurance is sufficient, the horse gains **speed increase**
- If endurance is low, the horse **moves slower** or **refuses to run**

This module supports **General Module Configuration Menu (GMCM)**, allowing you to customize:

- **Daily Friendship Gain**

If there is no GMCM, these settings can be modified in the `config.json` file.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
