🎵 Interactive distinction
Kisses and hugs are distinguished by sound effects and emojis:
- There is no sound effect for hugs by default
- A hug will show a smiley emoticon, a kiss will show a heart emoticon
⚙️ Configuration options
To restore the default kiss sound effect, set in the **config.json** file:

📋 Instructions for use
In order for NPCs to kiss and hug each other, they need to be dateable characters (or special roommates), as other NPCs don't have the appropriate poses in the sticker chart. For example:
- Emily and Haley can hug
- But Caroline and Pierre cannot kiss (the corresponding gesture is missing)
If you have a mod that adds these poses, you can disable this restriction in the configuration file or set custom pose frames for specific NPCs.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
