Become a source of terror in Stardew Valley!
Scaring - Thieving Skill
🎮 **Introducing a new mechanism to Stardew Valley** - "Scare/Steal" skills, a new way to interact with the social system!
✨ Core Functions
**Scare villagers mechanism:**
- After talking to the gift-giving NPC once, press the scare/steal button (default: B button)
- Multiple factors affect your level of terror/stealth: the direction of you and the NPC, weather, outdoor darkness, daily luck, etc.
- Friendship with villagers will be reduced, but there is a chance to get items they like or love
- That counts as gift giving this week! Villagers can only be frightened twice a week
- The skill will enter the cooling time after use
**Scare Monster Options:**
- Don't want to scare the villagers? You can also scare/steal monsters
- Although only 1/3 of the experience points are gained, the monster will be knocked back and 1 point of damage will be caused when successful.
- Get extra loot at the same time!
🎭Dual theme selection
This mod was originally intended to scare villagers... but some people pointed out that the idea was closer to stealing. So I added a config option to repurpose the mod as a steal skill!
- **Scare Theme**: Have fun playing pranks
- **Stealing Theme**: A more immersive stealth gameplay
- Configuration options need to restart the game to take effect
📊 Skill level and specialization
**Level 5 Specialization Options:**
- 👻 **Ghost** / 🎯 **Pickpocket** - Orientation no longer affects dice chance
- 🧟 **Zombie** / 🏹 **Robin Hood** - Chance to not lower friendship when scaring/stealing
**Level 10 Specialization Branch:**
- 👻 Ghost Route:
- 👻 **Banshee** / 🦹 **Highwayman** - Affects all surrounding NPCs at the same time
- 👻 **Wraith** / 💪 **Robber** - Recover 25% of maximum health and stamina when frightened/stealing
- 🧟 Zombie route:
- 🧛 **Vampire** / 👻 **Phantom** - now has a chance to get universal favorite items
- 🧟 **Ghoul** / 🎭 **Rogue** - Get an additional 10% bonus on fright/steal dice and loot dice
⚙️ Configuration options

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
