🎭 **Match your farmer portrait and outfit perfectly! **

Do you want to have your custom farmer portrait match your current outfit while changing out your fashion-conscious outfit at any time? Then this mod is made for you!

---

🚀 How to use

  • **Download module and prerequisites**:
  • Farmer Portraits for 1.6
  • Fashion Sense
  • FashionSenseOutfits
  • **Create Farmer Portrait and Clothing**:
  • Quickly create portraits with Jazzybee’s SDV character creator
  • Make some outfits in fashion sense
  • **Set folder structure**:
  • In the module's Assets folder, create a folder named after your farmer
  • Place the base portrait files into this folder: portrait.png, portrait_angry.png, portrait_blush.png, portrait_happy.png, portrait_sad.png, portrait_special.png
  • **Add a portrait to a specific outfit**:
  • Create a folder with the exact same name as the Fashion Sense Outfit within the Farmer folder
  • Each clothing folder needs to contain a complete set of portrait files

💡 **IMPORTANT NOTE**: The folder name must be exactly the same as the costume name, including spaces and special characters!

🎨 Custom reactions and portraits

Add custom reactions for NPCs

If you do not set custom reactions for a character, the system will use the default reaction settings from Farmer Portraits for 1.6.

📋 **Editor Guide**:

  • Portraits are numbered from left to right, top to bottom, starting from 0
  • The farmer portrait number is based on the settings in Portraits.json: 0=default, 1=happy, 2=sad, 3=angry, 4=blushing, 5=special
  • Each entry contains the NPC name and matching number, the first number is the NPC and the second is the farmer's reaction

⚠️ **Important Reminder**: Please be sure to back up your custom reaction settings before updating the mod!

Add additional portraits to custom reactions

To use more portraits, you need to add additional portraits and corresponding sections to Portraits.json.

🔧 **Configuration instructions**:

  • "Target" allows the image to be treated as the original portrait sheet
  • "FromFile" tells the mod where to find your portrait
  • You can add any number of additional portraits, but portraits of portrait 6 and above need to add corresponding reactions before they can be used

📝 **NOTE**: When adding additional portraits, make sure to add code in both the DEFAULT and OUTFITS sections!

---

⚠️ Usage restrictions

  • After changing costumes, you need to wait for the game time to advance (such as from 6:20 to 6:30) or enter a new location before the matching portrait will appear
  • If you create a new outfit in Fashion Sense but the matching portrait doesn't show up, it may be because Fashion Sense doesn't think your character is wearing that outfit. Open the Fashion Sense menu, select clothing and click on the clothing you just made to solve the problem

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
