📥 Installation Guide

  • **Install the latest version of SMAPI**
  • **Extract the module folder to the Stardew Valley/Mods directory**
  • **Run the game using SMAPI**

---

🎮 How to use

Just install the mod and view the weather system on your original windows! If you want to adjust particle variables in the game, GMCM is highly recommended. I kept the original style while adjusting the speed to make it more realistic and natural.

🌟 Main functions

**Weather particle effect**

  • **🌧️Rainy Effect**: real-time triggered rain and lightning flash effects
  • **☀️ Sunny Effect**: dust particles floating in front of the window, light beams that change angles and colors according to time
  • **🍃 Leaf effect**: leaves floating into the room when the window is opened
  • **❄️ Snow effect**: Snowflakes drifting in when the windows are open
  • **🌿 GREENHOUSE ENHANCEMENT**: Add effects to large immersive windows
  • **✨ Fireflies**: occasionally flying outside the window on summer nights
  • **🦋Butterfly**: Occasionally appear outside the window in spring and summer afternoons

**Window function**

Go to the window and use the action button (usually the right click) to interact with the window to open it!

**Window functions include:**

  • Custom animations for original windows
  • Small creatures enter the room (configurable)
  • 🦋 Butterfly
  • ✨ Fireflies on summer nights on windy, sunny or rainy days
  • ❄️ Cold breathing effect in winter
  • 🍃 Leaves floating indoors
  • ❄️ Snowflakes drifting indoors
  • *More features will be added soon! *

🔧 Compatibility

**The only compatibility issue at the moment** is with mods that modify greenhouses or use greenhouse pane resources.

My mod, loaded via Content Patcher, clears the glass to draw the background behind it. There is currently some hardcoded logic that I will fix to ensure full compatibility.

**Temporary solution:**

Find GreenhousePanes at the top in the mod settings, select "Vanilla", wait for a game beat and the background should be fixed. Weather overlays will still work, but will assume the greenhouse window positions are the same as in the original and may have some shading issues.

⚙️ Setting options

Although the GMCM module is not required to run, it is highly recommended. You can change the display and adjust configuration variables such as particle speed and transparency.

---

🗑️ Uninstall method

Just delete the mod folder directly from the Stardew Valley/Mods folder. Safely add or remove during gameplay.

🗺️ Development Plan

  • 🍂 Seasonal scheduled window opening events
  • 🎄 Holiday window opening event
  • 🐾 More spawnable creatures
  • 💫 More interactive features
  • 🪟 Curtain system

🎨 Content Creator

I plan to add a framework to easily add new windows using json files (similar to Content Patcher but more streamlined). The only existing framework currently is to replace the greenhouse background with your own.

**Steps to create a custom background:**

  • Create satisfactory background resources
  • Create SMAPI module folder and manifest.json file
  • **IMPORTANT**: Name the mod folder '[DW] your_mod_name'
  • Add resources, manifest.json and dw-content.json files
  • Done!

**dw-content.json example:**

```json
{
"Replacements": [
{
"Target": "Greenhouse/Fall",
"FromFile": "assets/bg_gh_fall.png"
},
{
"Target": "Greenhouse/Spring",
"FromFile": "assets/bg_gh_spring.png"
}
]
}
```

**Parameter description:**

  • **Target**: Specify the content to be replaced
  • **FromFile**: Specify the location of the new image

Currently, it only supports the replacement function of the …

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
