Open the folder and create the following files:

  • `manifest.json` - Manifest file required for any Stardew Valley mod
  • `content.json` - the entry point for the Content Patcher module

🎯 Add tile action

Tile actions can be added to the map in two ways: EditMap and EditData.

EditMap method

Add any tile action key directly to the tile's properties by editing the map tile.

EditData method

The mod provides a custom data dictionary that you can add everything to and it will be automatically applied when the player enters the applicable location.

🔧 Trigger system

The module provides multiple ways to trigger actions:

  • **Load** - unconditional trigger
  • **Action** - triggered when the player takes an action on the tile
  • **On** - triggered when the player steps on a tile
  • **Off** - triggered when the player leaves the tile
  • **Enter** - triggered when the player enters the position
  • **Push** - triggered when the tile is pushed
  • **Pushed** - triggered when the tile has finished pushing
  • **Explode** - triggers when the tile is within the explosion radius
  • **Tool** - triggered when a specific tool is used on a tile
  • **Item** - triggered when the player holds the specified item and interacts with the tile
  • **Talk** - triggered when player talks to NPC
  • **MonsterSlain** - triggered when the player defeats a monster
  • **ObjectPlaced** - Triggered when the specified object is placed
  • **ObjectClicked** - Triggered when the specified item output item is collected

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
