Version compatibility
I've included two versions of the download:
- **ORIGINAL VERSION**: Works with Content Patcher format 1.14.0
- **Latest version**: Works with Content Patcher format 2.7.0
Function description
✨ This mod replaces the game’s horse sprites with cute donkeys!
- The original version works on all versions before the carrot animation was added to the game
- Latest version for horse spritesheets that currently contain carrot-chewing animations
- As long as there are no major updates to the horse sprite sheet, this mod should continue to work in all versions
Usage suggestions
🎮 Choose the download file that suits your version of the game and enjoy riding donkeys in Stardew Valley! This simple sprite replacement adds a lovely twist to the game.
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
