Use Content Patcher to replace the crow sprite in the game
Dom's Hooded Crows
🌍 **A simple yet exquisite visual enhancement module**
✨ Module introduction
This is a small mod using Content Patcher that aims to replace all instances of (presumably American) crows in the game with their European* counterparts, the beautiful hooded crow (*Corvus cornix*).
Since this is purely a visual mod, there will be no issues installing or uninstalling it at any point during gameplay.
🎯 Compatibility information
✅ **Confirmed compatible mods:**
- They Deserve It Too - Portraits for Vendors
- Any mod that doesn't specifically replace raven assets (or in some cases the entire atlas in which they appear)
🔮 Future Plans
- Gradually add more mod support as it is licensed
- If possible, find a way to lower the pitch or change the sound of the crow in the game
🙏 Special thanks
Thanks to DolphinIsNotaFish and Nyapu for allowing me to edit their portraits and include them in this mod!

*Note: Hooded Jays are also found in parts of Asia and North Africa, not just Europe. While 'Eurasian' is an accepted term, I'm not aware of a term that encompasses all three continents, so for simplicity's sake I've chosen to refer to them as European species, as this is also my continent. *
🐦 Usage suggestions
This mod brings a more diverse birdlife to your Stardew Valley world! If you like European style wildlife, this mod is definitely worth a try. Once installed, you will see elegant hooded jays replacing the original crows in the game, adding a touch of exoticism to farm life.
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
