Dialogue Guard
🎯 **Dialogue Guard** is a lightweight utility module that automatically detects and restores missing or corrupted i18n dialogue lines, replacing them with **original text**.
✨ Core Functions
- **Smart detection and repair**:
- Detect empty string (`""`)
- Detect untranslated lines (`(no translation:)`, `{{i18n:...}}`)
- Automatically replace invalid text with **original dialogue**
- **Wide Compatibility**:
- `Characters/Dialogue/*`
- `Characters/schedules/*`
- `Strings/*`
- `Data/Festivals/*`
- **Fully Automated**: **No setup required**
🎮 Advantages of use
- **NO RELOADING**: No need to reload or manually manage Content Patcher when testing
- **Game Stability**: The game runs normally even if the i18n keys are missing or damaged
- **Real-time experience**: Players can experience the dialogue naturally, and the mod author can view the effect in real time
- **Easy Maintenance**: **Upload once, update only when necessary** - no ongoing maintenance required
🔧 How it works
1️⃣ When launched, the module will take a snapshot of the original dialogue data
2️⃣ After other modules are loaded, check for empty or damaged entries
3️⃣ The detected lines are automatically replaced with the corresponding original content
4️⃣ Working lines remain unchanged, ensuring full compatibility
💡 Features
**Includes Random Selection System**, which can randomly select from repeated lines of dialogue and is configurable through GMCM.
💬 "Automatically restore damaged or missing i18n dialogue to original text."
Keep the game stable and let modders focus on writing - not debugging.
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
