Install:
- Install the latest version of SMAPI.
- Download this mod and extract it to Stardew Valley/Mods.
- Use SMAPI to run the game.
Configuration file:
A config.json file is automatically created when Stardew Valley is first loaded and stored in the same folder as this mod's .dll file, which is located in the Mods folder.
The file looks like this:
{
"Monday": 20,
"Tuesday": 20,
"Wednesday": 20,
"Thursday": 20,
"Friday": 30,
"Saturday": 100,
"Sunday": 100
}
The number associated with each day is the percentage probability that the cart will appear, where 0 means the cart will never appear that day and 100 means it will always appear.
Default settings:
By default, the mod is configured to my personal settings (listed above), which I think is a more realistic timeline for travel merchants. With these default settings, the cart is always guaranteed to appear on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with a small chance of appearing randomly during the week, but keep in mind the whole point of this mode is to configure the schedule to your personal preference.
Possible ideas for setting up:
- "The station wagon no longer travels but is a constant fixture in the Stardew Valley community every day"
{
"Monday": 100,
"Tuesday": 100,
"Wednesday": 100,
"Thursday": 100,
"Friday": 100,
"Saturday": 100,
"Sunday": 100
}
- "The station wagon look is really rare and will make the cart appear once a month"
{
"Monday": 4,
"Tuesday": 4,
"Wednesday": 4,
"Thursday": 4,
"Friday": 4,
"Saturday": 4,
"Sunday": 4
}
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
