Content introduction:

Add cute decorations to your farm map that change with the seasons

Author: Tanpoponoko

Install:

This package contains only .png! You will have to edit the farm map using tIDE to include the elements. Here is a tutorial and video on how to use tiDE with Stardew Maps. You'll also need to animate the animated tiles yourself. You have to add images to the tiles each season (I recommend using the outdoor tiles) and then use the tiles there to place the features anywhere on the farm map.

How to add

TilesIn the zipped folder you will find four experienced tiles. These include all the different map elements, grouped by season. To add these to your tiles, follow the instructions below:

(Please note: The following method may not work with 1.3's tiles. I don't have access to them, so I can't adjust the amount of space in the newer tiles. All you have to do is add some space at the bottom of the tilesheet and then put the new tiles on the bottom and it should work fine. I'll update it once I get 1.3.)

  • Find the file (spring/summer/fall/winter)_outdoorsTileSheet.xnb. These will be in Stardew->Content->Maps. They may be elsewhere depending on the mods you use, such as seasonal immersion, xnbloader, content patches, etc. No matter which mod you use, you can find these four files. Then put them back in place.
  • Use easy xnb to decompress these four files. Open .png file
  • Open the four seasonal outdoor tiles in the "Custom Map Elements" folder. You'll notice there's a lot of empty space at the top. This is where your original tile will go.
  • Copy everything from the original tile and paste it into the Custom Map Elements version of the tile. Sebastian's motorcycle should be on everyone to let you know if it's lined up correctly. If both motorcycles are right on top of each other and in exactly the same position, you're good to go. Make sure to erase one of the motorcycles, otherwise the shadows will be too dark in the game!
  • Combine the two layers. Save the file as (season)_outdoorsTileSheet. Do this for all four seasonal tiles. Keep all these tiles in the UNPACKED folder.
  • Use easyxnb to unzip your farm map. You must also unpack all tiles associated with the site map.
  • With these new tilesheets in the UNPACKED folder, open the .tbin file of the server farm map. If you have all the necessary tiles, you should be able to edit the map at this point.
  • Go to town!
  • Once you have made your edits and saved them, repackage everything. You must replace the four seasonal outdoor tiles in the content folder (or elsewhere if you are using the mod to load them). Before doing this again, make sure you have backed up your files. Also replace the farm map with new packaging.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
