🎨 Creating Custom Emoticons: A Modder’s Guide
Step 1: Folder Structure
Your content pack should follow the following layout:
```
YourEmojiPack/
├── assets/
│ ├── YourEmoji.png
│ └── AnotherEmoji.png
├── cfg.json
└── manifest.json
```
Step 2: manifest.json example
```json
{
"Name": "NameForPack",
"Author": "YourName",
"Version": "1.0",
"Description": "Terraria Emoji Pack",
"UniqueID": "YourName.NameForPack",
"ContentPackFor": {
"UniqueID": "Zexu2K.NewEmotes",
"MinimumVersion": "2.2"
}
}
```
Step 3: Create emoticons
Use **template.png** in the main mod folder to align your art.
- **The green line is an auxiliary guide** showing the center of the emoticon bubble
- Each emoticon must be exactly **64×64 pixels**
- Use a transparent background
Step 4: cfg.json format
Your **cfg.json** file should look like this:
```json
{
"Tongue": "Tongue.png",
"Happy": "HappyEmoji.png",
"Wave": "wave.png"
}
```
By following this guide, you can create custom emotes that integrate perfectly into the game's emoticon system!

💡 **NOTE**: To use custom emotes in multiplayer games, **all players must have the same emote file installed**.

Original Mod: OwO Emote
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
