CoboldAIValley
🌟 **Use an AI-driven dialogue system to bring the NPCs of Stardew Valley to life! **
🎯 Core Functions
- **🤖 Intelligent Character Perception**: AI will consider each NPC’s personality and relationship with you
- **🎭 Fully customizable character traits** (via characters.json file)
- **🧠Experimental memory system** perfectly integrated with original style dialogue
- **📅 Context-aware replies** (takes into account time, date, friendship level)
- **💝 Dynamic Relationship System** (Friendship level changes based on your tone)
- **🎮 Custom NPC support** (details below)
⚠️ IMPORTANT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- **Requires more than 8GB of video memory! **
- **Use at least ~6GB of system memory**
- **First boot may take 5-20 minutes**
🛠️ Installation Guide
Required modules:
- SpaceCore
- Expanded Preconditions Utility
- SMAPI - Stardew Modding API
- Generic Mod Config Menu (for module configuration)
External program (required):
- **KoboldCpp** - GitHub download link
- **Language model (gguf format)** - Recommended to download from Huggingface.co
🚀 Setup steps
- **Install all required mods** to the Mods folder
- **Download language model** (recommend a model with a size of 7B or more and a Q value of 4-6)
- **Configure KoboldCpp**:
- Create a separate English path folder for the program
- **Run as administrator**
- Adjust GPU Layers settings according to video memory
- Load your language model via Browse
- Set Host in the Network tab to: localhost
- **Start KoboldCpp** and wait for the console to display localhost:5001
- Open localhost:5001 in the browser to verify the AI function
- Reset to default template, select chat mode, **Keep the console open**
- Start the game and check the connection status in the SMAPI console
- **Done! ** Approach the NPC and press the **T** key to start chatting
🎮 In-game operations
- After approaching the NPC, press the **T** key to open the chat interface
- Enter what you want to say and the game will automatically identify the conversation partner
- AI will generate original-style dialogue replies after a short processing time
- If you want to cancel the chat, **press the ESC key twice**
🔧 Advanced configuration
Language model recommendation:
- **Harbinger-24B-Q4_K_M** - 24 billion parameters, strong understanding, few errors (response time 13-20 seconds)
- **Saiga_Gemma3-12B-Q6** - Lightweight but powerful, follows prompts accurately (response time approx. 7 seconds)
GPU Layers setting suggestions:
- 8GB video memory → 23 layers
- 12GB video memory → 30 layers
- 16GB+Video Memory → 43 layers
🛠️ Troubleshooting
- **AI behaves abnormally? ** Check KoboldCpp console output, add stop words in config.json
- **NPC reply too short? ** Edit prompt words in config.json to encourage longer replies
- **NPC doesn’t understand you? ** If SMAPI prompt exceeds 2k characters, increase token size in KoboldCpp
🎭 Add custom content
Custom NPC:
Edit the **characters.json** file and add the name, traits and relationships of the new NPC according to the template
Custom events:
Modify the **events.json** file to add or change in-game events for specific dates
💡 Tips for use
- For best performance, it is recommended to use a Q4-Q6 quantized model of around 7B
- A higher "B" value in the model name is smarter, but requires more resources
- The "Q" value represents the quantification quality, avoid using models with Q<4

**Thanks for downloading! This is my first mod and I'll be happy to fix any bugs I find! **
I wish you a happy game and a more colorful farm life! 🌟
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
