🎮 Module introduction

This is a practical mod specially designed for controller players, aiming to solve a common pain point in the mid-to-late game: "How to buy a lot of resources/items without being bored to death?"

Most keyboard/mouse players know that holding `Ctrl + Shift` will buy 25x faster, and there's even a super cheat `Ctrl + Shift + 1` that can buy the entire stack of 999 items at once. Controller players may only know the best option is to hold `A + X`... which only gets 2x speed.

Controller players are once again left out in the cold, having to either switch to mouse/keyboard or fall asleep listening to the repetitive clanging sound. But don't worry, dear players! The design community has known the solution to this problem for years: **Acceleration**.

If you've ever wanted to use a D-pad remote to skip half of a 2-hour video, say on YouTube or Netflix, then you've seen this concept. Navigation starts slowly but quickly accelerates the longer you hold the button. The same concept is used here, but with a Stardew Valley twist:

---

🚀 Core functions

  • Holding down the **A (Action)** or **X (Tool)** button will buy at normal speed
  • Holding **BOTH BUTTONS** simultaneously will start at 2x speed (same as the original), but accelerate to higher speeds over the next few seconds (~100x on default configuration), allowing you to fill up your entire backpack faster than using a mouse/keyboard
  • If you need to reach the target amount exactly, just release one of the buttons when approaching and the speed will return to normal (1x)
  • If you feel the default settings are too aggressive... or not aggressive enough, you can configure the maximum speed and acceleration duration

---

⚙️ Configuration options

All options are configurable through GMCM. If you prefer to edit `config.json` or have issues with the game settings, here is a detailed description of the settings:

**Example configuration:**

```json
{
"MaxStack": 111,
"TimeToMaxStack": "00:00:05"
}
```

**Setup Instructions:**

  • **MaxStack**: Maximum number of stacks per "purchase event", actually acts as a speed multiplier. When holding down the A and X buttons simultaneously, each repeated purchase will purchase more items than the last until this maximum is reached
  • **TimeToMaxStack**: The time between the start of acceleration (when the A and X buttons are initially pressed) and reaching the maximum speed (MaxStack), after which the speed remains constant and no acceleration is continued

🎯 **After installation, just adjust the speed settings (if needed), and you will never have to interrupt your comfortable gaming experience because of the store menu! **

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
