Prevent farm animals from "freezing" when there are no players on the farm

Autonomals

🌟 **Make the farm life in Stardew Valley more vivid and interesting! **

Features

In the original game, farm animals would "freeze" when the player was not on the farm (in a building, elsewhere, etc.). The only exception is that at the beginning of the day they will move to the nearest meadow to graze, and then "freeze" until the player returns to the farm.

🎯 Why keep animals from "freezing"?

**Main advantages:**

  • 🏞️ **MORE LIVE FARM** - You will never again leave the farm in the morning and come back to find that the animals have barely left their buildings
  • 🐷 **Improved truffle production efficiency** - If the pigs are not moving around the farm, their truffle production will be limited. Especially when they have no grass to eat and you leave the farm at the beginning of the day: all the pigs will be standing at the entrance to the barn trying to dig truffles there, resulting in very low production at the end of the day. This mod prevents this from happening

🌍 Compatibility Notes

If you have other mods that allow building chicken coops/stalls in other locations, the effects of this mod will apply to those locations as well!

You can also limit mod effects to only apply to farms in the mod configuration (requires Generic Mod Config Menu).

⚡ Performance impact

**Will this mod cause lag? **

This mod "updates" animals the same way the player does on the farm. Simply put, if you don't experience lag when you are on the farm due to animals outside the chicken coop/stable, installing this mod will not cause lag either.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
