💕 **Let divorce no longer mean the end of a relationship! **
This simple mod allows you to maintain a cordial relationship with your ex-spouse after a divorce, or take the direction of the relationship if you choose.
✨ Basic functions
By default, this mod modifies two key variables after divorce:
- ❤️ **Friendship Value Preserved**: No longer resets the ex-spouse's friendship value to 0, but sets it to a customizable value (default 2000 = 8 hearts)
- 🤝 **Relationship Status**: Change ex-spouse's relationship status from "Divorced" to "Friendly"
⚖️ Complex divorce system
Want a more realistic divorce experience? Set **ComplexDivorce** to **true** in the config.json file to enable the complex divorce system!
**Complex Divorce Features:**
- 📝 **Divorce Agreement**: You can state all your grievances when signing the divorce papers
- 🎭 **Emotional Impact**:
- If you are friendly, your ex-spouse will retain some or all of your heart
- If you have a bad attitude or are slanderous, you will get an angry ex
- 💰 **Financial Compensation**: You can choose to let your ex-spouse bear part or all of the settlement costs, but this will be emotionally draining
📊 Relationship determination
When using complex divorce systems:
- If the ex-spouse has less than or equal to 4 hearts remaining, the relationship status will be set to "Divorced" and the other spouse will be angry
- If there are more than 4 hearts left, the relationship status will be set to "Friendly"
🛠️ Custom options
You can even create your own custom divorce system! The mod supports multi-language translation, and the author provides detailed instructions here.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
