✨ **Make the night in Pelican Town warmer and brighter! **
Features
🌙 **Added new streetlights and glow effects to Pelican Town suburb:**
- **Marnie's Ranch**: Added a new street light at the entrance

---
Installation instructions
- Download the main file
- Extract the folder to the `Stardew Valley/Mods` directory
- Launch the game via SMAPI
---
Technical principles
- SMAPI component adds custom streetlight sprites to the game world
- Content Patcher package to edit map properties to include new or modified lights
- Combine the two to create visual light objects and their functional glowing effects at night
---
Compatibility Notes
✅ **Good Compatibility:**
- Compatible with Content Patcher packages that modify the map, as long as the same light tiles are not covered
- Will not conflict with other Harmony mods as there is no way to patch the game
⚠️ **Note:**
- Multiplayer mode not specifically tested; lighting effects should take effect for all players, but console behavior may vary
---
Function scope
🔦 **Current version contains:**
- Added only three designated street lights (Marnie, Leah, Elliot)
- No changes to interior lighting or other areas of the valley
- Not a complete lighting overhaul mod
---
troubleshooting
🔧 **Solutions to Frequently Asked Questions:**
- The street lights are not visible? Check that the mod folder is correctly placed in the `Stardew Valley/Mods` directory
- No glow effect? Confirm that the SMAPI display module is loaded
- Conflicts with other map modules may require manual adjustment

*Author's Note: This is my first time using a map editing tool and chose to implement this functionality entirely through SMAPI code. *
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
