[How to get mushroom trees in Stardew Valley]
Mushroom trees are trees that appear in the fall. Can be chopped down by an axe, and will drop 5-6 red or purple mushrooms. It won't drop the seeds when cut down or shaken, but it will scatter them around like other trees. If there are no obstacles, the scattered seeds have a 20% chance of entering the next growth stage every day.
Getting the first Mushroom Tree is a random event in the fall. There is a 5% chance of triggering every day in autumn. When triggered, the game will randomly select 10 grids in the farm. If there is a fully grown tree (or stump) without a sap collector, that tree will be converted into a mushroom tree (or mushroom stump). Mushroom stumps will grow into mushroom trees next spring.
Mushroom trees can use sap collectors. Except in winter, sap collectors will produce red, purple, and normal mushrooms. During the winter, the sap collector remains on the tree, although the tree itself is replaced by a stump. The following spring, the sap collector may need to be removed and immediately replaced on the mushroom tree before mushrooms will be produced. Although the sap collector will remain on the stump, it cannot be left on the stump during the winter.
Mushroom trees can also be grown from mushroom tree seeds. These seeds can be purchased from Mr. Qi's Walnut Room for 5 Qi Diamonds.
Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
