About this mod Machine translation
Removed the Improved Enchantment effect (allowing you to enchant solid items) and replaced it with the Improved Enchantment effect (increased the power of weapon enchantments).
The purpose of this mod is to limit the power of player-made enchantments by replacing Fortify enchantments with useful, powerful, balanced, and lore-friendly alternatives.
new effects
Replaced Fortify enchantment effects with new alchemical/fey effects
Make your existing weapon enchantments more powerful.
New medicines and magic armor
Replaces the Sorcerer's potion with the new Spellsword potion.
Two unique and fascinating armor pieces have been added: Spell Sword and Spell Ring.
Requirements and compatibility
No other mods or DLC are required to use this mod, and it's fully compatible with all my mods.
It may be incompatible with other mods that affect the effects of enchanting potions or enchanting ingredients.
It may conflict with mods that change the interior of the Silent Moon Camp. It will not conflict with mods that change the appearance of ingredients, such as SMIM.
To avoid any issues, this mod should be placed lower in the load order than any mods that may conflict with it.
A new effect called Fortify Enchantment has been added that does the following:
"The power of weapon enchantments has been increased by <mag>%."
The new Fortify enchantment effect does not affect armor enchantments. There are two reasons for this: 1) Armor's enchantment rate is usually based on a percentage (e.g. 20% magic resistance), so even a small increase can cause dramatic, potentially superpowering effects; 2) enchantment exploits can cause stacking.
Improved enchantments increase the strength of Destruction (e.g., more fire damage) and Summoning (e.g., the ability to banish higher-level targets) enchantments. It increases the duration of illusions (e.g., the target runs in fear longer), restoration (e.g., the undead are knocked back longer), and the duration of the enchantment of transmogrification (e.g., the target is trapped in the spirit for longer).
It affects all weapon enchantments (including staves) that have a magic school effect (note: some weapon enchantments added by the mod may not have an associated school of magic and therefore will not be affected). Affected enchantments include normal magic weapons, player-created enchantment weapons, Daedric and Aedric artifacts, and even weapon enchantments added by other mods.
alchemy
The alchemical effect Fortify Enchanting ("For <dur> seconds, the item was enchanted by <mag>%.") has been removed and replaced by the new Fortify Enchanting effect.
The enhanced enchantment effect can be found on all ingredients that previously had the enhanced enchantment effect, such as Hagraven Claws, Spriggan Sap, and Snowberries. Common enchanting potions, including Enchanter's Philter and Enchanter's Elixer, have been renamed to reflect the change in effect, and now use Spell's Philter and Spell's Elixer.
Charm and ability
There are no Fortify enchantments in the vanilla game, probably to avoid stacking effects. However, since the empowering enchantment effect only affects the weapon, I see no reason why this shouldn't be enchanted. So I added one.
There are two ways to obtain this enchantment. The first option is to get Bashnag's Ring at the Southfringe Sanctum (Herb Shop). If you have already entered this cell when installing the mod, this option may not generate. For the second option, enter Silent Moon Camp (a vanilla location, see the map above for a map), where there is a fantasy sword bandit named Ozrog Spell-Hammer*, who will be wearing a pair of horizontal gloves with the Fortify enchantment effect attached. Both the ring and the gauntlet can be unlocked and used to create your own wards. An enchantment table has also been added to the inner cells of Silent Moon Camp so you can instantly disband if needed.
Please note that Fortify enchantments can only be used on gloves, tiaras, rings and amulets.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
