This mod allows the player to find his or her long-lost son to travel across Skyrim as a follower. After spending a few days in Thane in Riften, you should receive a letter telling you that a child claiming to be your son has appeared in Riften. After receiving this letter, you can reunite with him and recruit him to travel with you. After recruiting the child, his home will be located in Honeyside. I recommend using a module like "My Home Is Your Home" to set his home to wherever you want him to live. As long as you don't use a custom race, he will inherit your race.

There is currently no support for having a daughter. I'm hoping to get around this to some extent, but crawling through dialogue and trying to create a small sequence of dialogue that had any kind of sense of logic and tone took quite a while, and due to the unique nature of the voice types of children of both sexes, a second pass would probably take me about the same amount of time.

This mod will not:

Allow children to race in adult-friendly armor - I want this mod to be as focused and compatible as possible, so I'll leave that to other mods. There are a few to choose from. Choose one that works for you.

You are allowed to adopt your son - he will still call you Ma or Pa, but I want people to take the risk with kids, so he can recruit, but not adopt. Having NPCs switch between adopted children and followers is tricky. Maybe one day I'll keep doing it.

Install

I recommend using Mod Manager or a similar mod management solution, but if you insist on manual installation, just put the .esp and .bsa into the Data folder.

Select a master file only based on using RDO or VVE and whether RS ​​Children is used

All the unique lines added by this mod are the same between RDO and VVE versions, but the lines added in VVE and RDO are different, so the response to the companion dialog box will be different depending on which version you choose.

If you use AFT, make sure you load it before the load order.

Known issues

After packaging the .bsa file, I'm not 100% sure that all required files are included. If you think there is any error related to missing files, please let us know.

I made some dialogue edits that stitched the two parts of the line together, but not all edits were completely seamless. I'm trying to make the edit as clean as possible, but I'm working with limited resources.

Sometimes, during combat, if your child is behind you and gets into combat range when you kill the last enemy, at the end of the combat, he will use Ice Form or Indomitable Force, which will cause you and other allies or bystanders to be sent flying or frozen solid for about 45 seconds. If any ally or bystander takes a hit, they will see it as an attack and will begin fighting your child. This is annoying but has only happened to me a few times. If you're not satisfied, use TES5Edit and remove these two tips from your child's spell list.

In the RDO version, when you use the command "I need you to do something", he responds with "What?". It will remain silent as if the voice file is missing. I'm pretty sure this is not a result of this mod because I tested the line on another sub-follower without the mod loaded and the line remained silent.
