About this mod Machine translation
Allows free gamepad buttons to be remapped or assigned to keyboard keys. Fully configurable via SkyUI interface.
Modkeys and hotkeys for gamepad buttons, using Xinput, in-game configuration only.
This add-on does not change any existing gamepad or keyboard configurations provided by the game. All settings are made independently, so they can be turned on or off individually at any time; or entirely by uninstalling the plugin.
Use Xinput Modkey SE to assign one or any simultaneously pressed gamepad buttons to:
another gamepad button or button,
keyboard key or keys,
mouse button or
A combination of the above.
Needless to say. Try browsing its in-game settings for more details.
This is an open source project. The source code can be found in the downloads section.
compatibility
Mod version 1.0 has been built and tested:
SKSE64:v2.00.12,
Skyrim SE aka.Runtime v1.5.62
These are not the latest. I will update them as soon as possible.
Install
Install using a mod manager (such as NMM or MO2). Provide the correct structure of archive content. No special steps are required.
uninstall
If you want to back up your settings, the file is stored in: ./Data/SKSE/Plugins/XinputModkeySeMcmByIkk.ini
Project information
This project uses Papyrus scripts, SKSE and SkyUI functionality. Internally, Xinput is used to filter gamepad buttons and tp to generate new input.
Summary of software used, not related to Skyrim:
Xinput - Part of Microsoft's Windows SDK
Detours - Microsoft package (website)
This project is built using Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 C++ compiler. Just use the compiler and not the IDE. The compiler configuration used should be pretty standard, but if you need to know all the options, you can get the project configuration from the "project.cbp" file, Configuration Code: Blocks IDE.
If you want to use it with other games, not just Skyrim SE, then you can try my other project called Xinput Modkey which can be found here.
mistake
We welcome your bug reports, any corrections or suggestions.

Modkeys and hotkeys for gamepad buttons using Xinput with in-game only configuration.
This plugin does not alter any existing gamepad or keyboard configuration that the game provides. All settings are made independently, so they can be turned on or off individually at any point; or completely by deinstalling the plugin.
With Xinput Modkey SE one or any simultaneously pressed number of gamepad buttons can be assigned into:
another gamepad button or buttons,
keyboard key or keys,
mouse button or
combination of the above.
Not much to say otherwise. Try browsing through its in-game settings to get into the greater details.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
