{{{describe}}}

Do you enjoy playing Skyrim but prefer using a controller instead of a keyboard. Are you tired of not having any extra hotkey buttons to spare? Well, I have a solution for you.

This tweak is a custom controller keymap file I personally created that I've modified to suit my personal preferences. The changes were made only to the controllermap file and only affected the controller's keys and not the keyboard's keys at all.

In the Files section, there are multiple versions available, but only the two main versions in the Main Files section are updated and fully compatible with Dual Wield, Lockdown, TK Dodge, Quick Soul menus, or any combination of them. They are all optional, but not actually required for the mod!

Key changes

Revised version [R18]

Allows 4 free buttons. Change the controller buttons in the following ways.

(All buttons are illustrated in the XBOX layout)

_______________

LB is unallocated and acts as a modifier key when reserved. (If you are using TkDodge, it is recommended to set this as a Dodge hotkey.)

_______________

"RB" is a shout and has no accessibility features.

_______________

When using a one-handed weapon, "LT" is a left-handed attack or regular block.

_______________

"RT" is a right-handed attack with no auxiliary function.

_______________

Select (options) as favorites and activate the waiting menu when in use (with keys).

_______________

"Start" is "Journal", which when used with (w/key), activates the "Tweening" menu.

_______________

The left stick retains its full motion functionality. However, when pressed (down), it activates stealth.

_______________

The right stick retains its "Camera Look" function and when pressed will activate the P.O.V. function normally.

_______________

Now, "B" is unassigned and can be assigned to any preferred function or hotkey. (W/key)B will activate SNEAK. (If you use it, I recommend re-implementing the hotkeys for dual permissions in MCM).

_______________

"A" retains its normal ACTIVATE functionality, with no secondary functions.

_______________

"Y" works fine and activates JUMP. (I recommend downloading Better Jumps while playing on PC.)

_______________

"X" is the version assigned to SPRINT starting with the R14 version, which when pressed with (w/key) activates READY WEAPON. (restored)

_______________

D-Pad button

Up and Down retain their normal functionality and can still be operated using the menu.

"Left" is now assigned to "ready weapons" (sheathed and unsheathed).

The right side is the unassigned left side and can be used for any hotkey. (If you use lock, it is recommended that you use it as a hotkey.)

Alternative version [A3]

Allows 6 free buttons. Change the controller buttons in the following ways.

(All buttons are illustrated in the XBOX layout)

_______________

LB is Sprint, which acts as a modifier key when held down.

_______________

RB is the cry.

_______________

When using a one-handed weapon, LT is a left-handed attack or regular block.

_______________

RT is a right-handed attack.

_______________

Select (options) as favorites and activate the waiting menu when in use (with keys).

_______________

"Start" is "Journal", which when used with (w/key), activates the "Tweening" menu.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
