Wolf Howl Fix
--------------------------------------------
The wolves no longer howled at the moon, they raised their noses to the moon, but no sound came out.
This mod solves this problem.
News 2018-07-22: If you are using the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (USSEP) 4.1.4 or higher, it now contains this fix = so it is no longer necessary to use this mod "Wolf Howl Fix".
The repaired file in Wolf Howl Fix can be safely deleted and the game save continued to be played (it was just a replacer animation file, USSEP has now taken over the replacement).
I'll leave this build in case anyone for some reason doesn't use USSEP and its thousands of game fixes. I personally recommend using USSEP instead:P
History of this mod:
This fix is part of a set of 9 fix files that had to be removed from USSEP in version 4.1.3b due to it interfering with the new official DLC, the Creation Club Nix-Hound mod. The original 9 files are also no longer needed, as 8 of them have officially fixed the vanilla game files. ..yet even though Bethesda was supposed to have the howling wolf fixed - that's still not fixed.
Due to an unresolved conflict with CC Nix Hounds, USSEP 4.1.3b no longer includes the original 9 fix files. At the time it was thought that all nine files were in conflict - so this mod was born to temporarily upload the single fix file needed for Wolf Howls to work again. It has now been determined that this separate fix does not actually conflict with anything and it has been included again in USSEP 4.1.4 and later.

FAQ
-----
Q: Did Bethesda not address this issue in the official fix?
A - No, seeing as I uploaded the MP4 video, I went back to a completely vanilla setup (no mods installed) and removed the game BSA to make sure I would have all the latest vanilla files installed. I then performed a verify cache in steam to download all the updated files to the official version v1.5.39.08, replacing the files I removed. Then test before and after applying the fix
Saw the Dev Notes for v1.5.39.08 "The wolf has regained the ability to howl" in the bug fix - apparently they forgot to do that, or if you installed CC Nix Hounds and also fixed it???, so give them the benefit of the doubt maybe they installed Nix Hounds to test and forgot to test without..or they were just smoking, who knows...all I know is that this fix file is still needed to make the wolf AHWOOOO! :).
integral:
Thanks to Sialivi for providing the original fix files for the unofficial patch project.
See USSEP Changelog for v303 "Animation Fixes"
Thanks to Arthmoor (UPP team leader) for allowing the files to be uploaded independently.
Bethesda - for mountain foo
Many thanks to all community members who contributed to the unofficial patch.

Wolves no longer howling at the moon, they raise their snout to the moon, but no sound emits.
This mod fixes that issue.
NEWS 2018-07-22: If you are using Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (USSEP) version 4.1.4 or above, it now includes this fix = So no need to use this mod "Wolf Howl Fix" anymore.
The fix file from Wolf Howl Fix can be safely removed, and continue playing your game save (its just a replacer anim file, which USSEP has now taken over replacing).
I will leave this mod up in case there are people who do not use USSEP and its thousands of vanilla game fixes for whatever reasons. Personally I would recommend using USSEP instead:P

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
