Winterson - Faith in Skyrim

Winterson added religion and worship. Meditating, praying, and adhering to your divine creed can strengthen your connection with the divine and ultimately empower the divine. In addition to the divine and pious princes, the mode also adds many other gods from Elder Scrolls lore with their own shrines.

how to worship

When you use a temple, you can choose the deity to worship it. This makes you a worshiper of the deity, granting you a minor ability, the ability to meditate, and a list of their religious tenets. Some gods can only be worshiped through certain races or after completing quests.

Adhering to their principles and meditating or praying at the Shrine will make you helpful to the gods. At 100%, you become a devotee and gain a second ability, a powerful manifestation of the deity's power over Tamriel. Ignoring your religious duties or violating their taboos will reduce your favor to God, who will eventually leave you.

You can only be a worshiper of one god at a time.

prayer and meditation

Use Meditation Power to meditate anytime, get some help and display your current favor in percentage. While you can meditate as often as you like, meditating at least once a day is enough to get you started as quickly as possible. Some gods restrict meditation to specific times or places.

You can also pray at the shrine. Prayer is the equivalent of meditation, but with an extra kick. If using Survival mode, prayer comes with the usual gold cost.

racial god

At the beginning of your game (either after the introductory sequence or when you reach 2nd level), you can choose to worship one of several common gods for your race. This represents the religious beliefs your character followed before arriving in Skyrim.

lure

Visiting Yasukuni Shrine is the most common way to become a worshiper, but there are other ways. Some Daedric Princes in particular may lend a hand, and as you engage with them on missions or read about their deeds of power and glory, you will become their admirer. The Daedric Prince will only ask once, so choose wisely!

robbery

You may discover rare sacred or unholy artifacts that can improve your relationship with the gods.

nine gods

Worshiping the divine means pursuing divine ideals. Although favor is slow to build, the divine are benevolent and their followers will not fall out of favor unless they openly sin.

Akatosh

Requirements: None

Ethnic Gods: Breton, Imperial, Khajiit, Nord

"Fulfill your destiny by saving Tamriel. Increase your character level. Absorb the souls of dragons. Never openly violate Skyrim's laws."

Blessing of the Shrine - Increased Experience: Learn all skills 10% faster.

Worshiper - Father of Dragons: Attacks, spells, scrolls, shouts and enchantments deal X% increased damage to dragons (based on support for Akatosh).

Devotee - Turning the Hourglass: Meditation resets the cooldowns of your most recently used calls and powers.

Akai

Requirements: None

Racial Gods: Bosmer, Brittany, Empire, North

"Kill the undead and their summoners. Perform the rituals of Arkay. Never openly violate the laws of Skyrim. Never summon the undead or become one."

Shrine Blessing - Enhanced Health: Increases your health by 25 points.

Worshiper - Chalice of Life: Regenerates 5% of maximum health per second based on missing health. Can perform Arkay's rituals.

Devotee - Arkayn Cycle: Regenerates health when taking fatal damage. Must meditate to use this ability again. Cost 15% Favor.

Requirements: None

Ethnic Gods: Brittany, Empire, North

"Convince others. Receive the blessing of a lover's comfort. Find a new sybil for my temple. Meditate only in the naked body. Never openly violate the laws of Skyrim."

Shrine Blessing - Enhanced Speech: Price increased by 10%.

Admirer - Afterglow: Lover's Comfort (gained by sleeping with your spouse) also increases all skills by 5%.
