Expand Wind’s Rest Estate SE with Predence00 to make it compatible with TMPhoenix’s Hearthfire multiple adoption options.

This is my first self-taught project to teach myself how to create patches and how to use Creation Kit and SSEedit.

This patch adds compatibility with Predence00's Wind's Rest Estate (SE) mod and TMPhoenix's Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions.

I used the following guide with some minor notes.

I really like this player coming home and also want to thank Predence00 and others. (See Pred's page for more points) to create a wonderful home.

In order for the blessing to take effect, you need to do at least the following:

buy land

build a house

Build an upstairs bed (noble for 2 people)

Make a dining table (ordinary or noble, I recommend noble, because ordinary won't install it for me)

Building a basement extension

Build a children's bed

Create a practice dummy

I added this patch to the game mid-game when I decided to use it as a family home and had no issues using it. If you are a medium sized person then go ahead and be blessed. I recommend letting the game load and then waiting a moment before entering the basement from the inside out. If at first it does not consider the site to be a suitable residence. Go to the basement and drop it next to the child's bed.

I did add keywords and tags to all six of the kid's beds that could be built. But since I'm a midfielder, I only have two kids and have no interest in adopting more games, so I didn't test more (plus TMPhoenix recommends not trying to adopt more games if you already have two midfielders). I witnessed spouses and children doing chores, playing, and moving around. You may occasionally see them teleport. The best I can determine is that it has something to do with some path/conflict flags, but this is in the base mod so I chose not to modify it.

This was my first project to teach myself how to create a patch and use the Creation Kit and SSEedit.

This patch adds compatibility to Predence00's Wind's Rest Estate (SE) mod with TMPhoenix's Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions.

The following guide was used, with some minor notes by myself.

I really like this player home and would like to thank Predence00 et al. (see Pred's page for further credits) for creating a great home.

In order for the blessing to work you need to do a minimum of the following:

Purchase the land

Build the main house

Build an upstairs bed (2 person noble of common)

Build a dining table (common or noble, I recommend noble since common didn't load for me)

Build  the basement expansion

Build the Children's beds

Build the practice dummies

I added this patch in mid-build, mid-game when I decided I wanted to use this as a family home and did not have any issues with it working. If you are mid-build and go to cast the blessing. I recommend letting the game load and then wait a bit, go inside/outside and into the basement. If at first it doesn't recognize the place as a suitable home. Go to the basement and cast it near the kids beds.

I did put the keywords and markers in to for all six of the children's beds that can be built. But since I was mid-playthrough I only had two kids and had no interest to adopt more so I haven't tested more (plus TMPhoenix recommends not trying to adopt more if you already have two mid-game). I have witnessed the spouse and the children doing chores, playing, moving around. You may see them teleport occasionally. Best I can determine is it has to do with some pathing/collision markers but that is in the base mod so I chose not to modify it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
