Preface
This mod would not have been possible without LethalThreat's permission and Germrillian's previous work converting Wind District Breezehome to SSE. Additionally, there are tons of modder resources that the community is willing to share. Full credits at the end.
I've always thought this was a good idea, but I feel it's time to give it a full SSE update. This means it uses all core DLC and is incompatible with any older patches people may have made.
This is my first foray into House mods and what a project it is.
So, I'm happy to bring you:
Breezehome - Reborn
abstract:
Breezehome Reborn has many features and is completely captured. Your followers can sit on the porch, watch the stars on Whiterun with you from the tower, and run around the basement unimpeded.
There are lots of displays for items and artifacts, as well as appropriately sized vaults for more dangerous items, and if you store wealth in them some displays will populate that reflect your wealth (using the ledger).
There are some light sources inside and outside that change depending on the time of day. If the script doesn't load immediately and just sleeps through the night (more than an hour) it should be back to working.
Adoption is completely valid (although your baby may be a chore). Head to Proventus to change your "Alchemy" room (AKA the guest/follower room in this mod) into a child's room.
There are almost all crafting stations in the basement except for an Imbuing Chamber, which is initially a Staff Enchanting (you can have one if you want to go to Solstheim) and a Disenchanting Font (be careful). If you feel your adventurer needs space, look for the hammer.
There are just the right amount of weapon plaques and mannequins to display your favorite items.
Additional entrances allow access from outside the city.
Your home is your castle! Enemies will not follow you through the front or exterior doors. If you run away from a fight, you won't see your family slaughtered by overzealous guards or vampires again. However, there are no guarantees if you use other methods.
Breezehome Reborn was designed to have an uncluttered yet lived-in aesthetic while keeping clutter to a reasonable level and matching the home's exterior footprint and appearance (as much as Skyrim would allow).
Differences with Breezehome original and SSE ports in Wind Zone:
There are no sofas or paintings. If you need, please download Wind District Breezehome SSE or original Wind District Breezehome version.
The main house has been almost entirely remodeled and renovated, with walls and doors moved, new furniture and room decorations. The original aspect has always been disrespected by those who have previously worked on it, such as the corner kitchen shelf and the Temple of Kynareth. This is a new topic.
The basement has undergone some less aggressive renovations, with new halls and room entrances, redecoration, and the implementation of displays and vaults.
Entire lighting redone.
About lighting:
Skyrim is a fickle beast with lighting, and steps have been taken to try and mitigate minor bugs. The house itself uses what I call "light culling" because rooms and portals are architecturally prohibited. It's like a compact box with multiple layers between the upper and lower levels, allowing for some decorating tricks. The basement uses rooms and portals. This should alleviate most lighting malfunctions.
Light culling instructions:
There are trigger boxes in the house that disable or enable the lights when you pass them. This prevents "blackout" texture bugs you might see due to too many lights "touching" an object (no, walls have no effect on the game's light bounda …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
