About this mod Machine translation
A collection of graphics fixes and enhancements that balance and paint wildgoose999's Brightrun to make it even brighter.
Preface
When I first installed wildgoose999's Brightrun, I saw the potential: the ability to turn Whiterun into a radiant icon of the tundra was almost impossible to ignore. The heart of the landscape. The magnificent icons that form the core of Skyrim. Unfortunately, this potential is greatly negated by graphical differences that don't quite fit the spirit of the mod.
The highlight for me is the quoin (stone brick corner) decal texture. It was a muddy, greenish white that stuck out like a sore thumb against the pure white walls. I was fixed to fix this problem and managed to make it color match the surrounding stone brick texture. However, this is not enough.
This module is (for now) a very minor change, it's my first module on it, so feel free to worry about it.
change
v 1.0
- The 4th decal located in Textures\Architecture\Whiterun\wrplasterdecals (Brick Wall Corners/Quoin) has been color corrected.
Install
- Download and install using your preferred mod manager.
- Make sure this module is loaded after wildgoose999's Brightrun, or manually allow it to override Brightrun as it directly replaces the textures it uses.
future content
My plans for the future of this mod are as follows:
- Ensure all "bright" decals and textures in the Brightrun-Whiterun texture set are color corrected, have matching resolutions and have manageable file sizes.
- Ensures complementary visual harmony with unaffected Brightrun textures such as wood, gray slate, roof tiles, etc.
- Ensure that all Whiterun textures used elsewhere are not affected by Brightrun alternatives (Rorikstead, Riverwood, etc.). So far I'm not sure how to manage it, but I have an idea to turn Brightrun from a mere replacement into a separate texture set that only applies to the Whiterun city, leaving the vanilla buildings with their textures intact. This will include revisions to regulations for patching city extension modules that would overhaul Whiterun or add buildings to surrounding areas.

Foreword
In first installing wildgoose999's Brightrun I saw potential: the ability to turn Whiterun into a radiant icon of the Tundra that is near impossible to ignore. A centerpiece of the landscape. An icon of grandeur that makes up the heart of Skyrim. Unfortunately, this potential is significantly quashed by graphical discrepancies that do not quite fit the spirit of the mod.
What stuck out the most to me was the quoin (stone brick corner) decal texture. It was a muddy, greenish white, sticking out like a sore thumb next to the pure white walls. I was moved to fix this, and managed to color match it to its surrounding stone brick textures. However, that isn't enough.
This mod is (at present) a rather small change, and my first mod, so please go easy on me.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
