About this mod Machine translation
Convert tundra to boreal forests, such as those found in tundra at far northern latitudes.
feature
Adds dwarf trees (i.e. 1-4 m) and tree clutter to the tundra; creating a lightweight boreal forest.
As you get further away from civilization, the forest becomes denser, embodying the remoteness of the wilderness
Careful positioning and sizing of trees to preserve mountain views of Mount Whiterun
Compatible with all plant, grass and tree mods
Highly optimized, the expected performance cost for a mid-range PC is around 3 FPS.
Install
Vanilla installation instructions
If using the vanilla tree model, install the main file and the vanilla LOD optional files.
Custom tree module installation instructions
If using alternate tree models and textures (i.e. SBT, RAT, EVT, SFO), only the main files are installed.
Install the appropriate billboards for any tree mod you use in your preferred overlay order.
Generate tree LODs using xEdit, xLODGen or DynDOLOD. (3D tree support using DynDOLOD)
Install the generated output into your data directory or as a new mod in the mod manager mod.
Explanation: A billboard is a two-dimensional image of a tree. When you generate a tree LOD via xEdit, two things happen. First, the billboard is compiled into a tree LOD atlas, which is a single texture that contains all tree LOD textures (this is great for performance). Second, it generates a series of files that tell the game where to express tree LODs (i.e., now throughout the entire Whiterun Tundra), the size of each tree in the game, and the position of the specific tree LOD image on the atlas texture.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
