Let's face it. Whiterun is a bit rubbish! I never liked the gold roof and faded blue paint. But when I played Skyrim, I spent a lot of time there! This mod is a simple remodel of the Whiterun house, using the color scheme of the existing vanilla resources in the cargo bay to make the building look more like a medieval German fachwerk. Since it only contains texture files, it should be compatible with anything else. And since Dragonborn's Skaal village uses the Whiterun texture, this mod will also change the appearance of those buildings. Some other mods I recommend enhance Whiterun: Greener Skyrim Lite (as shown in the screenshot), Breezehome Living Better and Companions Living Better. Let's face it. Whiterun is a bit of a dump! I've never been a fan of the golden roofs and faded blue paint. But I spend a lot of time there when I play Skyrim! This mod is a simple re-texturing of Whiterun's houses, using the color scheme of existing vanilla resources used within the hold, to make the architecture look more akin to medieval German fachwerk. Since it only consists of texture files, it should be compatible with just about anything else. And since the Skaal Village in Dragonborn uses Whiterun textures, this mod will change the appearance of those buildings as well. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
