About this mod Machine translation

A werewolf/vampire hunger system with immersive audio/visual notifications and bonus or negative effects to keep your inner animal...or hungry.

Backstory/Why I made the mod

When I first played Skyrim, I was excited to have the option to become a werewolf ~ but I found that I rarely remembered or wanted to use beast form outside of a companion questline. This makes me sad. :(Then I discovered Moonlight Stories and thought the idea of casts was so cool! Then Dephine hit me in the middle of a scene because I wasn't paying attention to the time and started getting warning messages when I didn't want to skip dialogue...so it was cast for me The end of the conversion. (No offensive MT, it's still a good mod, just a little bit hardcore for me!) That was a few years ago and I didn't know how but now I do, so I can finally make my dream turn into a werewolf! (Well, one of several, actually, haha.)

what it can do

It adds a "hunger" system for werewolves. (Same as vampires, see below.)

I want a real reason to use Beast Form. I want it to be highly encouraged but not get in the way of play.

I want to be a werewolf and actually influence your dragon form, both in werewolf and werewolf form!

By default, it starts tracking after your first feed. Afterwards, you will start getting immersive notifications when your werewolf is hungry, once per game session (adjustable in MCM). Internet Explorer. You'll hear howling in the distance, the screen will blur, and everything will turn red for a few seconds. As you become hungrier, the effects intensify, occur more frequently, and you will also begin to hear growling.

(Note: Vampires will hear a beating heart instead of a howl.)

The rate at which your hunger increases varies depending on the moon phase.

Werewolf hunger rates are highest during the full moon and very low during the new moon.

Vampires are the opposite, most active during the New Moon and least active during the Full Moon.

There are 4 levels of hunger, each with different bonuses/negatives:

Beast: HP/MP/SP Regen +5%

Restless Beast: HP Regen -5%

Hungry Beast: HP Regen -25%, Stamina Regen -5%

Greedy Beast: HP Regen -40%, Stamina Regen -5%

Additionally, these are also affected by perks!

Sated Beast Bonus:

Beast Power Lv1: Melee damage +5 (poison, vampire)

Beastial Strength Lv2: Carrying weight +25

Beastial Strength Lv3: Melee damage +10

Beastial Strength Lv4:Stamina +50

Totem of the Ice Brothers: MP +25 (Incredible Will for a Vampire)

Moon Totem: Stamina Regen +20%

Predator Totem: HP Regen +10%

Animal Vitality: HP +50 (Power of the Grave, Vampire)

Restless/Hungry/Ravenous Beast Bonus:

Grimtotem: Melee damage +5/10/15

Gorging: Reduced HP Regen debuff to -0/15/25% (down from -5/25/40%)

Savage Feeding: Negates the Stamina Regen debuff.

Sorry, I don't know anything about video editing, so.. Sucky vid, but it will at least give you an idea of the effect!

Also, the vid is shooting in LE and the effects look slightly different in SE, but they are similar enough.

The spectral wolf in the video is Styx! <3

vampire?

Well..sort of. You may have noticed by now that it's for werewolves! Sorry ~ I don't own any vampire characters so I can't really test them! I added the vampire feature because I thought maybe someone would want something like this and it wouldn't be that hard to enable it for them. But I wasn't too invested in vampires since vampires already had a hunger type system in vanilla, so I wasn't sure how much interest there would be. I'm willing to improve it for vampires if people want it, but it would rely heavily on feedback because like I said, I can't test it and tbh I don't really know how vampires work!

compatibility

For the werewolf model, it is compatible with anything that does not affect the WerewolfFeedRestoreHealth magic effect.

As with Vampire mods, it is compatible with anything that does not affect the VampireFeed Perk or PRKF_VampireFeedBeds script.

Compatible with any werewolf mesh or texture replacement.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
