Weighted - Compatible with Item Weight Mod
A simple, fully configurable mod designed to ease the frustration with the character weight limit system by removing the weight of less important items (e.g. food, potions, books), rather than simply increasing the Dragonborn's carrying capacity. Also designed for maximum compatibility - I ran into an issue when trying to use a similar mod.

About this mod Machine translation
A simple, fully configurable mod designed to ease the frustration with the character weight limit system by removing the weight of less important items (e.g. food, potions, books), rather than simply increasing the Dragonborn's carrying capacity. Also designed for maximum compatibility - I ran into an issue when trying to use a similar mod.
Why? :
I hate how the weight system works in vanilla Skyrim. There always has been, and probably always will be. But I also don't like "demoralizing the spirit of the game" (i.e. "cheating", but you can't really cheat in single player... can you?) and using console commands/mods to increase the Dragonborn's carry weight seems like that to me. So instead, I decided to make all "insignificant" items (i.e. not weapons or armor) weightless; hence this mod.
But there are already a bunch of these types of mods out there:
Yes, there is. But none of them do everything I want. For example, many of them only reduce the weight of specific items but not others (e.g. reduce the weight of ingots but not solid Dwemer metal), only reduce the weight of one category of items (e.g. only reduce books), only reduce partial weight instead of completely and the biggest problem, conflict. I've encountered a lot of conflicts using these types of mods. The problem is usually that there is a very small conflict that isn't obvious unless you look for it (e.g. removing some of the pickup noise added by Immersive Sounds), so I decided to create my own mod instead of patching a bunch of other people's mods. , and patch.
feature:
- Fully customizable (get only the changes you want)
- Script installer for easy installation
- Packs for many (?) popular mods
-Scripted installer will automatically detect installed mods and suggest patches if available
- Add or remove any save game at any point in time without any negative consequences
compatibility:
Most mods should work straight out of the box! Will not conflict with mods that replace vanilla textures, but may conflict with mods that change base element values of vanilla items. A list of fixes available for known incompatibilities is listed below.
Current patches:
(Using the patch requires the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch)
(I will update these frequently!)
Compatibility patches:
(These patches are required if you want these mods to work properly with Weighted!)
-Valdacil's item sorting
- Another Sorting Mod 2018-SSE
-Immersive Sounds - Compendium
- Book Cover Skyrim
- Room floor
-Skyrim Alchemy Fixed
-XxAwesome_PotionsxX
Optional patches:
(These patches are optional - weighting can be used without the patches, but items added by these patches still have weights without them.)
Book Cover Skyrim - The Lost Library
- Immersed Armor
-Moonpath to Elsweyr
- Gray hood at night
- Legacy of Hyrule
-Apocalypse - Demon of Skyrim
Install:
(Requires unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch)
No more USSEP! (USSEP still needs patch support)
Just download using MO or NMM and click to install! (Automatic scripts will take care of everything).
Or, if you really want, you can install it manually. To do this, simply drag and drop the desired plugin into the Data folder.
A note about loading order: make sure to load patches after the mods they are supposed to patch!
Notes on frequent updates:
Due to the nature of this mod and the way it's packaged, updates will be released very frequently, but most of the time these updates will only contain new patches, so you won't need to download every new update unless you need a patch that's in said update. Regarding applying new updates, you should be able to install any new updates on top of older ones (hit "overwrite" when asked!), unless otherwise stated in the update's file description, although always uninstall older versions of mods before installing newer versions.
Question no one asks, but I’ll answer it anyway:
Q: Will you create patches for X mods?
A: Yes! (Probably) As the name suggests, compatibility is one of the ma …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
